Ever find yourself harmonising with the songs on your playlist? Are you a singer looking for a new place to sing? London City Singers is looking for new voices to join us.
WHY JOIN? Here are a few of the benefits our members enjoy most.
Find your next challenge
We perform and compete with other singing groups throughout the year and we’re dedicated to achieving a high standard. Keeping our members challenged and motivated is in our DNA. If you want to achieve more with your singing, we promise an exciting ride!
Learn a new skill
Never tried barbershop singing before? We think it’s one of the most demanding and awe-inspiring ways to make music. Deke Sharon, music director of the Pitch Perfect films, said:
“I’m not saying you have to learn barbershop to be a great a cappella singer but I’m promising you if you do sing barbershop, you’ll be better than if you don’t.”
If you’re new to barbershop, we’ll bring you up to speed and show you why we love it!
Maximise your me-time
Everyone needs something just for themselves – a chance to step out of the demands and pace of everyday life. Singing and performing with London City Singers gives a chance to express your creativity, unleash your talent, and immerse yourself in music.
Research shows that singing is great for health and wellbeing. What better way to give your heart, lungs, and mind a workout every Tuesday evening?
READY TO JOIN? There are two ways to start your London City Singers journey.
- Attend any of our Tuesday rehearsals
We rehearse every Tuesday at St Saviour’s, Pimlico from 6:30pm to 9pm. Drop an email to our membership coordinator to discuss which rehearsal you can attend.
- Come to our taster evening
On Tuesday 10 January 2023, we’re having a dedicated taster evening. You’ll join others who want to get a taste of who we are, what we sing and how we rehearse. Sign up here if you’re interested.
The audition. London City Singers is an auditioned choir and you must pass the audition before becoming a full member. We pride ourselves on our audition process and the confidence and skills it can bring to potential members – it’s an educational experience that involves helping you find your best voice. You’ll find out more about the audition process if you decide you’d like to join.
How much does it cost to join? Attending a taster rehearsal or joining the taster evening is free.
If you decide to join, you’ll be asked to contribute £5 each week you attend rehearsal until you pass your audition.
If you pass your audition, members contribute £40 per month (£30 for aged 25 and under).
